Nimrod Dookie Warning American Idiot Insomniac 21st Century Rev Radio Trilogy 39/Smooth Kerplunk FOAM
Who is brave enough to rank with the network, foxboro, Billie and Norah, Billie covers and pinhead gunpowder releases
They are apparently playing all of American idiot and dookie on the saviors tour. Was announced during the Howard Stern show appearance.
Yeah, I just saw that too... Seems too good to be true. Haha. Mostly because I'm not sure how that would even work logistically with three openers and all the "woah." I'm going to listen to the interview and see if I can get an actual, direct quote to support that. Big if true, though!
Dirnt estimates it’ll take about 90 minutes to play both albums. “We’ll then have about 35 to 45 minutes to throw down on other stuff.”
According to the rolling stone article the set will be 90 Minutes for dookie and American idiot then 35-45 min for other stuff
Seems like it would make a little more sense to do Saviors in full and then rotate between Dookie and American Idiot in full, for the Saviors tour, but I guess they gotta fill those seats.
Eh, the better option would be to do all 3. I think people would be pissed if they knew they would get AI or Dookie instead of both. And yea, getting both will sell more tickets. I haven’t heard Saviors yet, but all 3 would be wild, but it doesn’t sound like that’s the plan. Which is cool. Play like half of Saviors and then play the hits from the non Dookie/AI albums should be just fine.
Have to imagine the non-AI/Dookie songs will be limited to: Hitchin a Ride Good Riddance 21 Guns The American Dream is Killing Me Look Ma, No Brains Dilemma Brain Stew Waiting Minority Might mean the death of King for Day, mercifully!
They confirmed it's going to be 35 minutes of "King for a Day" and "ayyyyy oh/woahs" + "Good Riddance"
It'll be interesting to see what they play for the other 40 or so minutes. My guess is 20 will be from Saviors songs leaving another 20 for picking from 11 albums, well not counting stuff like Shenanigans. As a super nerd fan, the stuff I'd wanna hear like Haushinka (zero chance) won't make it but this is a cool set as many haven't heard both albums in full. There were so many singles from both that even the casual fans will know lots of the main sets.
They confirmed there will be no food or restrooms at the shows, and attendees will be strapped to their chair specifically for that portion of the set. Super weird!
