Huh? This song basically sounds like something from Nimrod (Redundant for example) mixed with really heavy guitars from Insomniac (and also Nimrod to be fair). Not sure what you’re hearing lol
The thing is, at their truly top of the line best, Green Day is earth's biggest and often best power pop band.
I've listened to Dilemma like five hundred times already. Feels good to be obsessed with my favorite band again
Dilemma is an absolute 10/10 for me. The video is also so pointed and bums me out in the best way. I have to ask - is Billie sober now?
This album feels special. Not in a way that they're going to dominate radio and streaming, AI-style, but in a way that their broad fanbase is going to really rally around. Like how After Laughter felt. They're revitalized, and the fact that they did it again 2 decades after AI is insane.
No idea how the rest of the new album will do, but the radio station that’s on all day at work here plays the first single 2-3 times every single day. That and One More Time lol
I keep loving these more and more. I legit haven’t been hyped for a Green Day album in well over a decade so this feels weird haha
Fun to have an album like this to look forward to in january. Starting the year off (hopefully) right
Also funny that someone earlier in the thread rightfully made a menzingers comparison to this song because it’s very obvious that Green Day has been a huge influence for the menzingers (particularly Tom songs).
Look Ma and Dilemma are both songs that could be on International Superhits and that’s the highest compliment I can give a Green Day song.
