I think there have been 2 songs since 21cbd that can truly stand up to their peak work: Still Breathing, and now this one.

This reminds me of the best possible version of the Menzingers and I mean that as a compliment of the highest order. This RULES.

 

If we had to put some ages on it, like say 2016 or 2009 or even a three year streak of ages…?

Didn’t get a chance to post in here yesterday but this song is INCREDIBLE. Probably one of the most personal that Billie has ever written, and the video is amazing too

I know I’m a huge Green Day apologist who defends everything they make but this album really feels like the most effort they’ve put in for a really long time, maybe since 21st Century. Everything from all of the videos being some of their best ever, the album art, even small things like the new logo/aesthetic feel like they’ve had so much more attention given to them

I’m so happy with this era already and we only have 3 songs so far

The chugging riff after the chorus is absolute 15 year old air guitar catnip.

 

Yeah, this is my favorite Green Day since X-Kid. I've always preferred emo adjacent GD stuff, so this certainly ticks that box.

I really like when I can hear their 50s rock and 60s pop influences come through. One of the best things about this band. I have been relatively checked out since 21CB (have listened to everything, gone back to nothing) but I have a feeling this record could dominate January for me.

 

I was out based on the lyrics on the first single but these last two singles have me all the way back in.

 

“dilemma” is so good i don’t even care if the rest of the album sucks, even though i bet it doesn’t. didn’t think they could write a song like that at this point. it’ll be stuck in my head every time i have a hangover (for instance today)
