There is a zero percent chance Green Day music and chorus.fm will ever be separated from FOAM discourse, that will never go away
It’s wild that Green Day have only released one good complete body of work since 2009 with Rev Rad. I have high hopes for this one! (That’s coming from someone who likes trilogy songs a lot more than most). The last album didn’t happen in my head though and it’s very, very rare I write an album off in my head for a band I love. This new song has some really cool moments in it too! Great music video.
I’m aware, I may have worded that poorly but one good since 2009 would mean one good between 2009 and now.
Isn't Look Ma, No Brains a B-side? Anyway, subbing, love the new track. Is there any background about the album art?
Yeah, about three separare parts of this song remind me of various American Idiot songs, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
New song works for me. Would have been shocking if they didn't go in a more politically driven direction with the state of everything. Can see this album being a more proper follow up to Rev Radio and this doesn't feel too far removed from it.
That could be it. Can't place what the melody reminds me of though. I don't listen to much Green Day but it could be one of the songs I've heard.
PLEASE STOP TALKING ABOUT THAT THING WHY OH WHY GOD WON'T PEOPLE STOP TALKING ABOUT THAT THING PLEASE LORD SAVE US FROM PEOPLE WHO CAN'T STOP TALKING ABOUT THAT THING THAT THING THAT HAUNTS US THAT THING THAT DRIVES US THAT THING THAT WE FIND DEEP INSIDE OF OURSELVES FOR IT IS THAT THING THAT I HAVE SENT TO YOU
I guess. It's just kind of paint by numbers Green Day TM. "Look Ma" is like a good compromise of switching things up but still sounding like Green Day, in a less jarring way than FOAM. So I'm excited for that song to officially be released.
I had to go to a meeting before I could finish this, so I don't care if it's too late to make sense. I worked hard on it. :(
The cover is a photo by Chris Steele-Perkins during the Troubles in Northern Ireland. The boy's face has been altered though
The strings section of the song reminds me a lot of Viva la Gloria from 21CB. I would love it if they experimented with that a bit more.
