Sugar Youth is the one song I am shocked the general fanbase doesn’t like. It’s the most Green DayTM sounding one to me on there.
Sugar Youth and title track are good. I seem to be the only one who enjoys Oh Yeah and TTMAC. Everything else is
I listened to the whole thing after listening to Uno and Dos recently. And I gotta say….FOAM is not a good album, but at least there is some energy there compared to the trilogy. Billie’s vocal inflections on Uno are SO annoying, and I rarely have heard a record that sounded more lifeless and hackey. With FOAM, I actually like the title track. Sugar Youth is not bad, and Graffitia is decent. The rest is just poor songwriting. But all in all, it at the very least sounds like it had more effort put into it than the trilogy. Listening to Uno in particular was such an unpleasant experience.
It's telling to me that even among the tracks people are willing to admit they like, there isn't a consensus.
I'm doing a discography run too, but muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch slower, only one song per week. And then talking about it for an hour and a half.
I feel like I haven’t heard Green Day talk seriously about their music for a while. This was refreshing.
Listened to the new tracks again today (trying real hard to not overplay them before the album drops) and I love this return to form from them. Hopefully the rest is good.
Interesting that TADIKM was written 3-4 years ago but left off FOAM because they didn’t want that record to be political
People act like 21st Century Breakdown is as long as Zach Bryan’s American Heartbreak. It’s weird! It’s like, what, 12 minutes longer than American Idiot?
21CBD feels much longer, but yea, it’s not THAT long haha I’ve listened to it in one sitting many many times. I think the number of songs makes it seem much longer to a lot of people.
