Also, the merch lines last night were insane. Would be curious to see what the merch grosses are on this tour.
Yeah I was definitely expecting more theatrics from Green Day last night, especially considering how much there was when I last saw them at Lolla 2010. I thought it was cool that they kept the Knowledge gimmick in the show, but why wouldn't Billie just quickly say "because of Covid you need to stay down on the cat walk." It seemed really obvious to me, but I think that kid was so caught up in the moment he was oblivious to it. He tried like three times coming near Billie Joe and he kept gesturing for him to get away lol
Just saw a vid of either last night’s show, or the show before. Damn. Crowd really wasn’t digging Weezer…
Last night my section was so dead during Weezer. Never a good sign when you can hear yourself singing along lol
US stadium shows have the worst crowds, especially in the seats. Just take a look at the difference in a US stadium crowd (almost all reserved seats, people sit down for most of the show, and don't really get into it) vs. a European stadium crowd (where the whole floor is general admission and the crowd gets super into it). Such a bummer, especially considering how expensive pit tickets are.
For big shows like this I can't imagine myself being anywhere but the pit. The seats are just too far away for my liking and I don't end up enjoying the show as much as I would like to
Both bands had setlist that were effectively the same. The extended Interrupters set was sick, though! Totally different. I think Weezer and Green Day just extended certain parts (or played full parts that normally would have been cut, e.g., El Scorcho). Tonight was SUPER SUPER fun! I'm still wired! The crowd was definitely into Weezer, though it got decidedly louder as far as singing along goes when Green Day took the stage.
So… picked up my radio tickets. They told me that they had extras for crew and they gave me an extra pair. Got to the car to see where they are. One pair is for section 338. I am not too comfortable up top anywhere, and the other pair I almost screamed with joy is the floor with VIP
Was driving this morning listening to the radio and the Elvis Duran Morning show played a clip of Weezer's cover of "Sugar We're Going Down" from Citi Field.
Was gonna ask the same thing, I'm going to the show. I'd assume since they didn't specify that they're not playing DC then it will be the first show back, hopefully I'm right
No Fall Out Boy again...I'm not even going to these shows but I'm so sad. I just hope everything is okay. I'm trying to go to the Columbus show next week, if they miss that (or Denver) I will be devastated.
My show is in 3 weeks and I’m getting really worried that it’s either not going to happen or a band will drop out
I was originally going to CitiField before the pandemic push to 2021. Had to switch tickets to Philly last summer. 12 days and counting. Fingers crossed the switch works out.
Even though FOB wasn't there the show tonight was really fucking great (despite the sound in the stadium not being great). The Interrupters were super fun, Weezer killed their whole set and Green Day just keeps being the best live band on the planet. I feel like I more than got my money's worth and I didn't even get 1/3 of the experience, the full shows with all of the bands must be amazing This was literally the perfect first show back after the COVID cancellations, my favorite band of all time with another band I love opening. I didn't realize how bad I needed shows until now
