At this point, every minute that passes makes it increasingly unlikely. It’s gotta be done within the next two hours, or not at all, at least for NYC.
Weird that there are no slight discounts being offered. The price of the top seats for this show were around $300 which are at or near what a 3 day festival pass is in some parts of the country. It'd be like a festival cancelling a day and 3 day pass holders not getting some sort of refund.
From what I've been able to piece together from various sources for those going tonight, 6:00 Interrupters, 7:20 Weezer 9:00 Green Day
Yeah, it's completely asinine. They had to expect something like this was within the realm of possibility, and to have collectively decided that no compensation was the way to go is just downright shitty. It sort of alters my perspective of the bands, to be honest.
Logistics could still be being worked out. Maybe it's a TM credit of some sort. I don't know what Fall Out Boy's contract stipulates but if they're not getting paid their fee tonight, there should be some sort of refund.
Just heard back from my contact at Fenway: He's been told that Weezer and Green Day ARE playing extended sets tomorrow. No partial refunds will be given. He offered me a full refund and said he expects they will be available to the general public shortly. I'm still going because my hotel is locked in at this point. Still upset, though.
If people get a full refund, do those tickets become available again? Will we be able to get a discounted ticket for Fenway? Stubhub has tix for under $100 each....
1 pit ticket was $225, with fees it came out to $270.50. Would I go see Green Day/Weezer/The Interrupters if that was the initial tour package? Absolutely. Would I pay $270 for that lineup? Hella Mega fucking no.
Knowing how Fenway's ticketing system works, it's unlikely they have a system in place to discount the tickets. I would expect the cancelled ordered will go back up for sale, but they'll still be full price. Otherwise, you'd have tons of people calling in to cancel their tickets, then just buying new ones for less money. If they were okay with that, they'd just do partial refunds.
I suppose those selling tickets on stub hub, should either just get a refund for them (since they wont sell for the full ticket price, right? And this way they dont lose money)
When you say "contact," do you mean a person that you know? Or just a customer service person you asked about a refund? Haha. Just curious. In my experience, the Fenway customer service reps are all pleasant, communicative, and well-meaning but don't always have all the info. Haha.
Someone I know in a relatively high position there, not their general customer service (though yes, they are friendly!)
Right on! Good to hear that sets will probably be extended tomorrow night. That makes me really happy to hear. Hopefully they make some sort of official announcement about it... And it kinda makes sense that they would be offering refunds, devising a new plan of attack for tomorrow but might not necessarily be able to do the same for NYC tonight. I just read a Tweet saying that (supposedly) Ticketmaster wasn't aware of the change to tonight's show until ~2 this afternoon!
I’m hoping the extended set thing winds up being the case. I trust my contact, but even he indicated in his email that things have already developed rapidly and they’re kind of dealing with this blow by blow - he’s just relaying to me what he’s heard from inside, to date. I know their office is getting inundated with calls.
They are offering refunds for tonight. The Fall Out Boy updates account on Twitter just shared a screenshot of the email
Good to hear both shows are offering full refunds. Still think partials should be an option, though. I’m sure there are a ton of people thinking “hey I still want to go to this, but wouldn’t have paid this much.”
I resold my tickets on Ticketmaster last week - anyone know what happens if my buyers request a refund? Do I automatically get one too? (I’ve been dealing with Ticketmaster’s customer service for 6 weeks regarding another set of tickets I sold so I’m not even going to bother with them lol)
I believe they pull the money from your bank account that they put in there. Which is why they have you link your checking or savings account
