Miami is a shit show so far. The stadium isn’t opening parking gates until 4:30. Same time that the doors open. Their excuse is “we don’t want people hanging out in the parking lots because of covid”. So instead we all rush in within an hour. Greaaaat.
Oh man. The last 30 minutes of tonight’s show was a rainy, glorious event. Everyone on the floor was soaked by the end. You can tell BJ was loving every second of it. Also, I almost got my head taken off by a drunk guy who decided it’d be fun to start throwing folding chairs around in the rain. Thankfully he was ejected fairly quickly.
It couldn’t get more perfect than rain during Wake Me Up, and the intensifying rain as Jesus of Suburbia progressed. All four bands were fantastic.
Really wanted to bring my 75 year old father to this (he loves live music) but has no interest now because of the delta variant. Sucks.
God, that blows. I'm sorry to hear that! My soon-to-be 60 year old uncle actually bowed out tonight because of the delta variant, as well. He's fully vaccinated, but the "other side" of the family has a number of folks he has to see regularly who refuse to get vaxxed up... This entire situation sucks.
Jesus, that sucks. But uh... Silver linings. Will Green Day and Weezer have extended sets? (And I'm incredibly bummed because I've never managed to see Fall Out Boy and was really looking forward to finally making it happen. Hope the band and crew are ultimately okay.)
This is a very funny post. But it brought me from being like "Oh! Maybe Green Day will throw in a few more songs from that club show into the set!" to "LOL! Hahaha!" to "Ugh. Fuck. They're probably right."
Fuck. I’m not even going to either of those shows but I’m still so sad. The hope I had earlier this spring and summer is completely dissipating.
TBH, that would be nice. I get that it's a "cool" thing. But after you see it roughly a dozen times over the years... Kinda loses its luster. It's time that could be spent playing another song.
I wonder how long it will be until this whole tour gets cancelled/postponed. I have a feeling we are getting closer and closer to that weekend in March 2020 where everything shutdown.
I feel like someone testing positive in one of the bands crew is just going to keep happening as they go from city to city.
Im expecting lots of cancellation/postponments after Lollapalooza, but at least I hope I can see this tour. My date is August 15, so less that 2 weeks away. Crossing my fingers
