TBH, I have that concern for both Green Day and Weezer. But I expect it from Weezer, whereas I'd like to think Green Day knows better.
Really just curious to see what, if any, surprises that any of the 3 pull out, or if we’re going to get just completely standard sets from all 3 across the board. And honestly, after 16 months of no shows, I’m fine with that but I can always be a little greedy. I also keep forgetting about the probability of them doing some songs together at some point during the night.
I’d really love to see Weezer again but the set lists have become so terrible and static for them. They used to mix up their set lists quite regularly but within the last 5-10yrs they’ve really become quite boring, which is sad bc they’ve put out some half decent records that get no love when they tour.
Recently? Saw them on the co-headlining tour with Panic and previously on the headlining tour for "Everything..." and both of them had very similar setlists despite being years apart. It'll be interesting to see if any OK Human or Van Weezer (hopefully not!) make their way into the live show.
I just want them to play Surfwax America, that's my favorite song by them. I've seen Weezer 3 times and they didnt play it
I’ve seen them 8 times, including full album sets of Blue and Pinkerton, so I’d love some of the newer stuff. I hope they play at least a couple VW songs.
I’m guessing Jonas Buddy Sweater Say it ain’t so El scorcho Island Hash Beverly Hills Africa Maybe All My Favorite Songs 2-3 Van Weezer tracks there’s a couple songs that supposedly Rivers said are in the algorithm for this tour (a couple blue album tracks, a green album track) that I purposely left off this list. Not sure if those tracks are for every date or in some rotation spot.
OK I'm putting this out in the universe. Here's kind of what I'm expecting / my predictions: Weezer Buddy Holly Beverly Hills Hash Pipe Pork & Beans Undone If You're Wondering If I Want You To Hero Say It Ain't So All My Favorite Songs Thank God For Girls Island in the Sun Perfect Situation Africa The End of the Game FOB Centuries Stay Frosty (possibly a longshot but I really want them to play this) Dear Future Self Phoenix Sugar Uma Thurman Last of the Real Ones Young Volcanoes Save Rock and Roll Dance Dance Grand Theft Autumn This Ain't a Scene Thnks fr the Mmrs My Songs Know Saturday Green Day Minority Father of All Know Your Enemy Bang Bang Holiday When I Come Around Oh Yeah! (I do not really want to see this song, I just think they'll play it......) Pollyanna Brain Stew Waiting Boulevard of Broken Dreams Graffitia (long shot but would love to see it) Still Breathing Jesus of Suburbia Basket Case American Idiot Good Riddance
You don't want them playing anything from Van Weezer? They delayed the album's release a whole year for Hella Mega, they are without a doubt playing a decent number of VW songs lol. Not to mention that it's their first album in forever that debuted in the top 10 AND had two singles that topped the rock charts. You're definitely gonna hear Hero, End of the Game, All of the Good Ones and Need Some of That in the set list. Also, All My Favorite Songs hit number 1 on the alternative charts, so you'll probably hear that too.
This all feels pretty likely. Weezer, in particular. I don't know enough about Fall Out Boy to comment on that but from what little I know? Makes sense. I do suspect that Green Day will only do one cut each from FOAMF and RevRad (probably the title-track and "Stay Breathing," respectively). I'd swap "Oh Yeah!" and "Bang Bang" out in a favor of fan-favorite cuts that they can say "Wanna hear some old school shit?" in front of ("Letterbomb" or "2000 Light Years Away," for example). Looking at this, too, I really do enjoy "Pollyanna" as a song. It's probably my favorite of the current era. But is it weird that I'd much rather we get "Here Comes The Shock" just because I'm pretty sure that song will slap in a live setting?
I think the big X factor here is whether or not they have a revolving stage or not. I keep revisiting that and it seems like that's a very reasonable possibility, in which case I think every band will get 75-90 minutes, GD maybe a bit longer. If they don't, and they have full 30 minute changeovers in between, I think Weezer may only get 60-75 minutes, 75 mins for FOB, and 90 minutes for Green Day.
Green Day used to be REALLY good about throwing in deep cuts into their sets. Like, REALLY GOOD. I certainly hope they kinda stick to that. I’d be bummed if we just got a “greatest hits/singles” set from them
I've never seen Green Day or Weezer before, so as long as they play 'Holiday' and 'Island In The Sun' respectively I'm good. I hope FOB throw "Young Volcanoes" "Thriller" and "Fourth Of July" into the set. Maybe "Chicago Is So Two Years Ago" or "Hum Hallelujah" if I'm lucky.
I can almost guarantee that they’ll play CHICAGO at the Wrigley show. I know Thriller and Hum are thrown in from time to time, and I’ll welcome both with open arms
I got VIP and got an email earlier to confirm my shipping address since they will be shipping out all the VIP items instead of handing them out at the show. So yea, this tour is happening folks!!
I was really hoping that would be the case. Not only do I not want to lug around those items with me during the show, if there really is a VIP entrance, I'm hoping to get in quickly so I can get a good spot in the pit. This is the same VIP company that was used for the MANIA Tour. I can't remember if I got my items before the show, I don't think I did.
