There's no guarantee the hotel quarantining will even be over by the fall. This country is a disaster

Y'know, I almost added something about this in my post above. But yeah. It doesn't exactly bode very well.

The one thing I will say is that this tour was set to start a full month earlier than Hella Mega when most places still wouldn't be fully open. Hella Mega is right in the "sweet spot" as far as that goes... But there's still places where cases are on the rise. So we'll see what happens over the next few weeks, I guess?

Considering all the latest developments are any of these venues not going to be a full capacity a couple months from now?

Somebody posted this I’m a FB group I’m in. It’s some random radio station in PA, so take it FWIW. But it feels legit and has been up for 8 hours.

That's confusing since The Dead just announced a tour playing a lot of these same baseball stadiums for 2021.

From the update we got few weeks ago, they seemed confident that this was gonna happen. Assuming they might rearrange some dates and cancel the Canada date if they want it to happen this summer.

There were some tours like the Sad Summer where they have to cancel some dates and rearrange others. Really hope Hella Mega does the same

Hella Mega is only like 4 weeks long, right? If anything I could see the dates getting pushed to begin at the end of August instead of the beginning. But I feel pretty confident this is happening in 2021.

Just like Sad Summer Fest, it'll probably have the dates pushed a few weeks.

I'd imagine it'd be harder to rearrange some of these dates since these are stadiums and they have to work with certain team schedules but I'm confident this is happening this summer.

Denver show is not until August 25th so I hope they keep it there!

If it does get re-arranged, I hope they keep the Florida dates in the same spot. Already have the long weekend road trip planned. Dave Matthews in West Palm on Saturday and Hella Mega in Miami on Sunday.

Worst case scenario, I refund these tickets and get some for Jacksonville, which is in the opposite direction but much closer to me.

20 shows in 5 weeks. Maybe they can push some of the July dates to August/September.

I gotta ask though...literally how does pushing it a month change anything? Vaccine eligibility is open for everyone above the age of 16, and we’re still two months out from the first shows which gives anyone with tickets the opportunity to be fully inoculated by that point. CDC has lifted mask guidance for vaccinated individuals and has said it is okay for fully vaccinated individuals to attend a crowded, outdoor live performance. Rescheduling just a few weeks later seems absolutely pointless. Just because Sad Summer did that doesn’t mean it makes sense for a tour of this size.

Maybe the prodcution crews/bands need time to actually get ready for tour? I can’t imagine they were able to prep to the full ability a month or so ago

There are stadium tours that start a month after Hella Mega, I asked myself that question several times for the past weeks, "what changes in a month making one tour or festival viable and another don't?" As an example, the recently announced Dead & Company tour.

Yeah, I have a feeling in my gut that it’s gonna be pushed to next summer. I think that radio station “leaking” that info kinda proves it

It may just get pushed out a month or so but... I dunno.

Baseball season may muck that up. And I’m not sure how much a month is going to help things in the areas that are currently problematic.

I had that same thought too. Vaccine rollout has been vastly different for each state. Even with states that are “reopen” but have little to no vaccines done, rerouting this tour seems like a nightmare. That’s why I’m thinking we get it in 2022.

If that’s the case. It’ll be almost 3 years since the tour was announced, which is REALLY weird to think about...

Probably announcing new dates tomorrow as rumored. The question is whether they've just been moved up by a few months or pushed to summer 2022.

I feel like if it were a 2022 postponement, they wouldn’t make a tongue-in-cheek post like that.

My thoughts exactly. Probably just pushing the dates a few weeks, but I see this happening this summer.

Saying “Batter Up” and then postponing to 2022 doesn’t fit together IMO. “Batter Up” means LFG, it’s time.

Yeah, I was wondering if/when they were gonna announce more dates. I recall them saying they’d be adding more...

Agreed it would be a weird way to announce a delay. Although it might be like “We are going through with the tour this year, BUT we are pushing it back by two months AND adding extra dates!”
