I'm still a bit perplexed about this tour still happening and how they'll pull it off. But if it goes ahead as planned? I'll be there.
I’d go tomorrow if possible. Need these shows to happen because if they cancel I doubt we ever see this lineup again.
I am very happy to see that these shows are somehow still on, but I'd still be surprised if they happen.
I really don't want to get my hopes up but I can see a number of reasons why Live Nation (or whoever) would want to push this tour forward. It's an outdoor stadium show, which bodes well for it in terms of COVID restrictions, but there were also *a lot* of tickets left in some markets prior to the delays, and if it ends up being one of the first big tours back, the rest of the tickets will sell well due to pent up demand for concerts 100+ fully vaccinated already and in three months time when this tour is scheduled to start, that number could actually be doubled. Everyone that wants a vaccine will have been able to get one for quite some time, and at that point, we can't keep canceling everything because of the people who *won't* get it.
If I were Live Nation, I'd be securing rescheduled 2022 NA dates. It is so tough for a tour this size to be nimble and the insurance costs for rescheduling/cancelling last minute would be brutal.
Totally, there is no way Live Nation doesn't have a plan B and even plan C. They waited until a month before the start of the tour in Europe to announce the postponment, so we might have news for the US tour in June.
I'd wager they have a plan B/C for US. They probably started rescheduling European dates 2-3 months ago and just finalized recently. I can't imagine rescheduling stadium dates is as simple as rescheduling a meeting.
selfishly I'm hoping for a rescheduling as my show's new time falls on a date I cannot make, and I don't want to miss this tour if/when it IS able to take place.
Best case scenario for me is this moves to 2022 and doesn't cancel. I'll if it's this year, but the person i was going with can't anymore. Not about to resell pit tickets i paid face value for
Yeah this would be the best possible first show back for me, I still really hope it happens this summer. Staying cautiously optimistic
Got an email from Ticketmaster that my tickets were printed and shipping shortly so seems like a good sign
Geez, I can’t remember the last time I was sent physical tickets to a show. My collection of ticket stubs just stopped growing several years ago. I use concertarchives.org to keep track now but I still have all my old ticket stubs so I can be a total grandpa about my memories one day
A long time ago, when moving from one place to another, I tossed all mine. I just had that moment. Jerry Garcia? Gone. Lollapalooza 1? Gone. Bowie? Ditto. Clapton? yup. Memories live on in my head, as best as I can remember.
Minnesota concert scene remains rocky as another downturned summer approaches "Target Field representatives confirmed the Guns N' Roses and Green Day concerts will roll over to 2022. Expect the same for Def Leppard at U.S. Bank Stadium."
Saw somebody share this in a Green Day FB group that I'm a part of. Hard to tell whether or not this would be for certain dates or the entire tour. Given the set-ups and shit that go into a tour of this magnitude, though... I'd imagine all dates get pushed into 2022. But we shall see.
Can't imagine they'll try to do a half US tour of places that allow them in. Production/trucks/staff is crazy expensive for a tour like this.
