Have truly never understood when people act so baffled that stuff slips through the cracks sometimes for others. I don’t follow any members of the band on social networks, or MXPX for that matter (cause I thought they were done) and I’ve got my favorites saved to a playlist for like 10 years now. A solid amount of my friends from the music scene don’t really like their music as well.
I have yet to catch a TSL show. All the ones that have happened since they came back were either impractical trips or sold out too fast :(.
I was gonna mention Name Taken who I absolutely adore, but I think those guys are quite content with life and are very unlikely to ever perform live. It breaks my heart.
Exactly, seems like lots of musicians end up being over it and it's probably fine, though it's weird to never hear their voices again - I'd still say this wouldn't be impossible though, a big maybe if the timing and money were right etc.
yeah, I'm positive this year's edition pushed bands like Armor for Sleep and Cartel to release some new music, which is as good as it can get
I remember when the new track in 2018 dropped and I found his voice to be entirely unrecognizable. It’s still a great track, but don’t know how the Hold On songs would sound live and thoughts like that have prevented me from not seeing many bands who I love on record.
Yeah, but I'd say a lot of it is different production and possibly new influences, experimenting with his voice, actually getting some more range - but still had some recognizable inflections especially at the tail of some lines there. I personally loved it ;D and I'm sure he could hold a very decent performance of those Hold On tracks.
I feel like something happened with BNO I’m not recalling that had them done done. Would be up for it though I only really ever liked the first album. Polar Bear Club is a coveted band in my home area and by me, but I would say they were a part of the next wave. Didn’t really pick up steam or attention until my senior year when they signed to B9. Sadly, if they were to reunite I don’t think Jimmy could sing older songs anymore. Not to say he wasn’t excellent live, but he damaged his vocal chords somewhere along the line and it was the catalyst for their major sound change on Death Chorus, and then eventual hiatus from lack of sales/interest in that album.
saving my pennies for 2032 when they have a lineup with Man Overboard, Transit, Fireworks, Wonder Years (again), La Dispute, The Hotelier (please god), The Swellers, etc
I was really surprised when Boys Night Out released the Black Dogs EP in 2016, but I don't even remember any shows associated with it, and they've been pretty consistent in saying before and after that reunion shows were unlikely. They didn't even do farewell shows before originally disappearing either.
Sold out so quickly, again. Also I haven't seen anyone mention a Steel Train or fun. Set. I would love to see steel train again
I intentionally didn't buy this year. All the dates at this year's fest sold out instantly, and now you can get tickets for about $150 less than the official price (both taking into account ticket fees). So I plan to just wait it out until a week or two before the show and pick up tickets then.
