Northstar is the first one that comes to mind that I'd love to see. If they did reunite I'm blanking on it. Some other bands from that era I'd love to see this fest throw some money at would be The Forecast, Socratic, and The Graduate.
I wish this was going on sale after the festival next weekend to see how it goes. And not the same week Blink tickets go on sale.
As other have said, I'm super not psyched to see Saves The Day on here, I don't know how we keep letting shitty people come back like this.
When 2/3rd’s of MXPX left in 2012/13 and the band went on hiatus, I thought that was it. A quick google search showed me they didn’t release another album until 2018 (never heard it or about it), and they do not tour or continue to release music regularly. So is it a brand new reunion? No, but still is a reunion for a fest. The Movielife is also for sure a reunion. Have they done it already? Sure. But it is another reunion for them. 1 ~reunion~ album in the past 20 years (literally) makes this another fest reunion show for them. They are not a regularly active, writing and touring band, much like MXPX. I guess you got me on Goldfinger and the Veronicas. Though I think I could garner some slack on both fronts considering the multiple hiatuses for both, and Feldmann flip flopping on OG members and also only having two releases in 13 years for the band.
I was asking a genuine question as I wondered if I hadn’t heard something regarding their respective statuses - I wasn’t trying to ‘get you’ so that’s a little insecure that you’d get so defensive. The Movielife have been touring with NFG recently. MxPx were touring in 2020 but then Covid had quite the effect on every band’s touring plans since then. Not sure if they’d played shows after. Don’t take things so personally, I was just having a discussion.
I'm happy to hear that. I didn't think we'd ever hear from them again, especially with the way they broke up last time.
No idea how you didn't hear about it, the 2018 reunion was probably their biggest album yet and was crowdfunded
Holy fuck I didn't even see that. My god...what a lineup. If I could see "Hurricane" live, my musical life will be complete. Also excited about seeing Fenix TX. Was hoping to see them when they had their reunion tour, but it was a 2.5 hr drive away, and I read on forums that they were bailing on about half the dates. I didn't go. Sure enough, they didn't play. Was quite pleased with that decision.
Houston Calls Everything since American Idiot has been universally disliked, so I don't think it's that unpopular an opinion. But I'd still have fun seeing them play tracks off that and the older albums. They'll probably headline 2024. Along with New Found Glory. That's my prediction. EDIT: My dumbass missed that NFG is on the lineup next year...
Spitalfield and The Graduate for me! Would love to see them back. I really miss Mark Rose and Corey Warning in music. Not sure if I could count Name Taken, they did release a new song in 2018, which I liked - and I don't know if they played any shows. Mark from Spitalfield plays the songs solo from time to time, but well, no new music either from the band nor his solo material makes me sad! Also, would be nice to get some new music from The Starting Line or Something Corporate, but I would probably only see it fit with TSL, seeing as Andrew has shifted a lot, possibly same as Kenny with Vacationer, but they proved they could do something cool with the EP (was it in 2016, oh hell!). SoCo I do believe could get down to writing hits again of course, but would they be much different than The Wilderness material (?). Still would love to see both of those bands live with the reunions, those would be the highlights for me, more than the headliners on both editions.
Awesome as that would be, I don't know that NFG are big enough to headline this. I just saw them on the S&S 20th Anniversary tour (one of the most fun sets I've ever seen) where they played Brooklyn Bowl, but the other headliners so far are bands that play arenas.
Poster is wrong But in the posters defense offspring is like 10th bill. They are NOT below simple plan lol
Offspring have 13 million monthly Spotify listeners with five songs with over 200 million streams. Simple Plan have 6 million monthly Spotify listeners with one song over 200 million streams. New Found Glory has 1.6 million monthly Spotify listeners with one song over 100 million streams.
If we could get an OG lineup for Lydia and have them just stick to the first two albums that'd be a nice throwback JK I'D COMPLETELY LOSE MY SHIT
I think you’re reading my words in an aggressive manner. I was not being defensive nor did I take it personal. Your response did initially read as a got ya moment to me though, which led to me explaining my current standings of memory with the bands mentioned.
