I work at an AXS run venue. They wanted all their venues to have metal detectors in them now. We put them in about a month or so ago. Same signs hanging up and everything.
Haha you're thinking too hard about it. it's just a starland ballroom inside joke at this point. I think it's funny that its still a thing
Beaches, casinos, farmland, close proximity to NYC and Philly, Six Flags, gigantic malls/outlets, Giants, Jets, Devils, Red Bulls, another 10 music venues and that's off the top of my head. We get it, you hate Jersey.
That Rough Trade setlist is absolutely unreal. Would have been incredible to be there. Looking forward to the Detroit and Chicago shows for this. Hope we get more new songs now that the album is out.
We’re performing in the (@Red Bull) #SoundSpace at (@The World Famous KROQ) today at 4pm PT! Watch it at KROQ.com/webcast it’ll be replaying for 24 hours via (@Red Bull TV)!
Damn I'm seriously considering paying the stubhub prices for the Chicago show. I don't want to support the scalpers though. I'm also still skeptical that scalped tickets would actually work at this show. I've still never seen Green Day, so it's this or driving to Minneapolis, which will end up being just as expensive.
Yea that's what I'm worried about, but I've also heard there are ways around it, so I've gotten conflicting reports. Luckily with stubhub I don't have to worry about losing money, but I'd be pretty bummed to get there and then not actually be able to go.
ID actually makes it worse cus I can't really see a way around that unless the scalper actually meets me at the show and gets them. I can't decide if it's worth the risk.
I'm not sure how it is with the venue you're going to but people were allowed to pick up tickets and go back out to "their cars". Totally up to you. If their tour next year comes around, I'd recommend getting GA tickets. I know it's not the same as seeing them in a small venue but it's the safest bet.
They turned away everyone without their credit card at my date. They swiped the card and it printed the tickets
In Philly you only needed the card if the will call name was different than your ID, but they put a wristband on you when you got the ticket and needed both that wristband and the ticket to get in.
I don't really care about small venue I just want GA, and the Minnesota date is the closest date I could go to and pit already sold out. I mean I know they'll come back to Chicago for an arena show sooner or later so I'll probably hold off or bite the bullet on Minnesota put tickets.
You can always go on Stubhub and get a GA ticket if it's not too expensive. I'd wait either the day before or the day of to get it at its cheapest price.
The show last night was a lot of fun. They played for about 2.5 hours (7:50 to 10:20). I thought it was really cool that they brought fans onstage during three different songs to sing or play with the band. I was a little surprised they closed with two slow songs. I thought they could have done Ordinary World and Good Riddance as part of the first encore and then finished the second encore with American Idiot or something. Thanks to @Daniel182 for getting tickets! Hopefully they do an amphitheater tour next summer.
