Philly was amazing, no set changes. Crowd was weird where I was, didn't really know how to handle a punk show. Getting mad when anyone pushed or jumped or crowd surfed or did anything but stand politely. Moving back towards the middle made things much better.
Just because it's a smaller show doesn't mean it's a punk show. Still the same mainstream Green Day crowd. I pretty much expect a similar crowd from when I saw Foo Fighters at a small club. Basically nobody moving around and a pain in the ass to maneuver through the crowd.
really great show in philly. also happy they started later...planned to get in at 830 did not realize how long the line was going to be to get in last night got in a little after 9 and it started a couple min later...great show though they sounded real good
Kinda nervous about getting in on-time tomorrow night, so I'm probably going to be getting there around 6 o'clock or so (doors are at 6:30, show at 8:30). Hopefully that's enough!
that's sad! The starland show was great. Everyone smiling, moshing, dancing, surfing, or neither but still enjoying it.
Agreed. The crowd was swaying during Bohemian Rhapsody and didn't really stop until the end. It was the loudest I've ever heard Starland and it beats out every time the IHOP ad is shown or when Chop Suey comes on the loud speakers.
I was actually shocked at how the crowd was moving and moshing. It was like I was just at a normal show, I was expecting everyone to stand still and get mad about movement haha
Just saw them at Rough Trade in NYC and they played so much old shit it made my head spin. 12th time seeing them live and it might have been the best.
Jesus that set at Rough Trade.. I can only hope the Detroit rescheduled show gets some of those songs.
I hope they come to Providence. I had tickets to see them here for the Uno, Dos,Tre tour before it was canceled. It would be great to be able to walk to a Green Day concert rather than drive an hour to Boston.
Don't get me wrong I will eat the hell out of some IHOP pancakes. Just so damn annoying. But hey it is Jersey so it should be expected.
I go to Starland all the time and it's the first time I saw a metal detector there. Maybe it was just for that show? Like everywhere, there's mostly good guards at Starland and 2 that are real dickheads. The worst security is Terminal 5 in NYC.
