Anyways I need to listen to this more. I was super hype for it, loved the singles and enjoyed my first listen. Then I kinda fell off for a while
I just don’t get why the jumping off point for discussion would be what you *dont* like but I literally do not care about this
Can I have a real spicy take and say that the beginning of Digger just doesn’t do it for me? When it builds into the “that’s why I hate/love you” part it rules, but I’m not fully in love with it!
Hey you’re not allowed to discuss such things here shhh. I really like Digger as a whole but I get you. Certain moments in English Garden make me feel the same
Dark Green Water pulls me in every time! Absolutely love when it builds and just suddenly stops, and you can hear the pressing of a button and it starts again. Love that!
The build is just incredible. The opening riff. THEN the drums. THEN the vocals with the amazing melody and high/low voice combo. THEN the drop out to just vocals before the full heavier kick in. The bridge with the strings and weird noises followed by the acoustic part and then the slowwww heavier version of the opening lyrics to close it out. A truly perfect song.
You need to go to the Michigan show and have fun seeing them in my place please and thank you. Or I need to figure out how to get myself to Detroit so I can see them lol.
I hope you realize I was just kidding. The fact that there are so many strong opinions that differ so much says something about the greatness of this album. I also get that you weren’t saying it was bad. If we’re sharing opinions about least favorite moments, “Mostly Here” is my least favorite song on the album but I still think it’s perfect.
Lmao yeah I was being sarcastic. Interesting take on one of my fav songs I love that despite not being huge on one or two songs, this album rewards a full listening each time. Like it definitely flows really well
