I think this is a great companion album to Nella Vita, and I can definitely hear the comparison to that last Emarosa album, especially in a song like “Motown.” That said, I don’t think anything on here comes close to “Baby Blue” or “Painkiller Weather,” which are two of my favorite singles from this genre in years.
Adornment is cool but I think they've gotten so much better since then. I'm not sure there's anything on here I like as much as the highlights from Nella Vita but its still really good.
ill have to revisit nella vita. i like certain songs but not the full thing, and same with adornment. they were kinda boring as a pop punk band besides fever dream
I might revisit Adornment too, I didn’t hear it until after getting into Nella Vita and it was kind of a snooze to me
King of Everything should have been the penultimate track, best intersection between their old sound and new
This is growing on me a bit. I like it. It's just not hitting me as hard as Nella Vita did. I do appreciate them branching out a bit and doing exactly what they want to do sonically.
I only liked a couple songs on the previous album, but this is extremely my shit. Some songs remind me of The 1975 and some Dangerous Summer
This album would have benefited a bit from re-organizing the tracklist. Always curious to hear why bands pick specific sequencing
Going back on sone previous comments of mine. Starting to really grow on me. The beginning minus bad love and the end are really good. Bad love is just a bad song. Tracks 6-8 are very skippable. Without You is def my fav so far.
Bad Love is a jam and Carolina Skies is one of my favourites. I agree that Without You is the best though.
Dreamcatcher to Carolina Skies? That’s one of the strongest stretches imo bad love is awesome too lol. Babylon/Light is probably my least favorites
