Gorillaz's Damon Albarn says he's "permanently dissatisfied" with his work This doesn't surprise me as I know of a lot of artists who have said the same thing.
Hollywood is my favorite so far. I honestly haven't gotten really into any of the singles yet besides this and Humility, the rest of them remind a lot of The Fall, which I've never been huge on
The more I listen to Hollywood the less I like it. It's like a Humanz b-side. Not what I want from Now Now. I want the more upbeat style of Humility.
Just watched the live stream. Damn, Soulk Eye sounds amazing. I think the only two songs I don't enjoy are Hollywood and Idaho.
Idaho is growing on me, but Hollywood is the worst on the album by far. This could easily be one of their top albums for me, but Hollywood really wrecks the quality. Otherwise the flow is incredibly well done.
Hollywood is really bad, yeah. Wish they'd just replaced that with Sleeping Powder straight up. Not sure how I feel about it all yet. 3-4 instant classics there, but a lot of stuff could have used some more development. It's a solid addition to their discog.
A shame. After my listen to this album, it's instantly better than Humanz. It might be one of my favorites from them. Souk Eye was just amazing to see on the live stream. Also my deluxe edition shipped! Look how groovy the vinyl is!
Based off the live stream, I think Tranz and Souk Eye are two of their best songs in a long time. Anxiously waiting for the album to drop tonight.
I'll have to check it out tomorrow. I just feel personally that Plastic Beach and Humanz didnt live up to Gorillaz or Demon Days. Too many collaborations and most of the songs sounds bland. I would rank Humanz over Plastic Beach. I know a lot of people think Plastic Beach is almost perfect, just for me it wasnt what I wanted.
Damon Albarn Warned Paul McCartney Not To Work With Kanye West Lol, Damon is a real dweeb for the “I don’t sample, I make real music” comment. Sounds like those old dads who hate rap music.
