I’ve never cared about the plots or the lore of the band. Always just listened for the tunes.

This is such a grower. Very high chance it stays in my AOTY list by the end of this year.

I think the first song of this album is so special, such a great vibe.

I’m pretty obsessed with this whole album and easily think it’s their best at this point.

Uncle Acid Slam "Soft As Baby Shit" Gorillaz For Forcing Early End To Their Roskilde Set

“Thursday at Roskilde, Gorillaz's headlining set at the Orange stage had been underway for about 15 minutes when the English psych band Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats began their performance on the Legune stage. Uncle Acid's set was clearly audible at the Gorillaz show, which led to some perturbed comments from Albarn. "Is it supposed to be possible for me to hear the other music so clearly?" he reportedly asked. "We can just stop playing and listen to the other thing instead, that's fine with me." According to the news outlet Politiken, he was right to be annoyed.

As a result of the sound bleeding over, Roskilde shut down Uncle Acid's set after half an hour. In an email to Soundvenue, here translated from Danish to English, the festival calls it "an incredibly unfortunate situation for everyone affected" and explains that Uncle Acid's music was audible from the Gorillaz area due to "an interaction between wind conditions and technical conditions, which affected the sound performance in an inappropriate way." The fest added, "When hosting a large live event outdoors, changes in weather and wind can create challenges," and said it was making changes to today's program to account for the circumstances.”

Do you automatically believe every statement festivals release? Is there actual video of people being bombarded with superior stoner rock while they were hoping to hear "on melancholy hill" or whatever

I asked what the festival said
I read what the festival said
    I said "there ya go"

So, no to everything you just asked

Ah, my bad, I misread the tone as meaning "well that's that"

Feels like this is coming from a place of bad faith if you're already starting from the standpoint of "the other band's music is superior, therefore the first band must be in the wrong".

  22. It isn’t a story lol it was one band posting about a much bigger band being dicks at a festival. Water is wet. Gorillaz aren’t unique in that sense as it happens basically every year lol but it is a shitty way to treat a smaller band just because they play louder music than you do.
