  1. I haven't listened to this since the first week it was released. It just didn't grab me.

Still digging this as well. Crazy how when Saturn Barz first came out 3 months ago I hated it, now it's one of my most played.

Also She's My Collar has really grown on me.

i like every song on here except moments and let me out, even then i think the album is just ok. a fun listen but not even close to their other albums

Let Me Out is not only one of my favorite songs on here but probably one of my favorite of the year

I think this is actually my second favorite album by them behind Demon Days, though it's very close with Plastic Beach. I just think the latter album kind of falls off in its second half save for a few songs

And another thing that Humanz has that Plastic Beach doesn't is Danny Brown

I haven't gone back since my first full listen, I'd probably put this on par with Plastic Beach, but a clear tier below the first two, which are absolute classics to me. Then there's the Fall, and the b-side albums which do have some incredible songs.

  16. Digging that song. I probably like it more than most of, if not all of, Humanz. Haven't returned to the album since my first listen.

we've seen the shadow of the axe before Supporter

This was a pretty big disappointment for me. I think I may have expected too much, I don't know. Curious to hear the other batch of tracks though.

Its just not that great of an album. I am a huge Gorillaz fan and Humanz, at first was pretty good, but after a couple listens I just have no desire to return to it. It just got boring.

I'm pretty bummed to see so much negativity about Humanz, I mean I truly think Ascention, Submission, Charger, Busted and Blue, Let Me Out are all top tier Gorillaz songs, and that's already half of the album that I personally love as top tier songs. The other half are all solid too, if not best-ever. Compared to Plastic Beach, yes I still like that album better, but Humanz is one of my favorite albums of the year so far

I know Gorillaz have always had features, but Humanz feels like a compilation album featuring Gorillaz, with nonsense interludes thrown in to make it feel like a cohesive album. IMO

I mean, I don't personally care if there are features or not as long as the songs themselves are good, and I truly believe these songs are good. I get the less cohesive mindset, but not the "too many features" issue

  22. StepsInADance

but what if the many features contribute to the lack of cohesiveness?

An album entirely built out of features can sound cohesive, this one is not

There are some really good songs on it but yeah I haven't played it as an album since the release

Sleeping Powder is really great, I might put it onto the album somewhere

But yeah I really enjoy this album too. Better than s/t for sure, and about even with Plastic Beach for me

Anyone else watch the Demon Dayz live stream? The setlist was perfect, I can't wait to see them in September.
Only negative was that their stage production wasn't as elaborate as I imagined it would be, but hell I don't really care so long as they continue playing that set (over 2 hours!).
