There's so much to digest here, but it sounds like a fair amount of these songs are very old, some 10+ years? Some of them follow a storyline, some have their old drummer playing on them, my Goose lore isn't deep enough for it all, but this album rips
"Jed Stone" is an early highlight for me, it's one of those songs that just feels so warm, really good track
yeah Echo, Empress and Factory Fiction I think have been around since before Goose was even a thing and Rick was in a band called Vasudo, the only fully new songs on here are Madalena and Royal. all the songs up till Turbulence are a storyline and after that is just individual tracks. these are a few things I know but there's certainly more lore that I don't
took these on a long Sunday walk this afternoon and it really reaffirmed that this band has my 1A and 1B favourite albums of the year to themselves, which has maybe never happened before to me lol seeing the sunlight hit the river right as the last chorus on EMG hits is a borderline spiritual experience
Love when music compliments your external surroundings in that way. I try to make that happen on vacations as I’ve found it helps me recall the trips later more easily.
I think CYD is my aoty, certainly the album I listened to most all year. pretty sure I have near 100 plays on Royal
I find CYD much more consistent production wise and I love how the lyrics tie in together, the highs on EMG are insane but I do skip a decent bit of it too
"Animal" being my least favorite song from EMG and my favorite song from Live at MSG is really funny!
Jam Band history hour: Chorus Goose fans have homework for the holiday. It's this 255 minute Grateful Dead concert video. You can split it up if you really have to, I guess. But you should all know it, this is your culture now, like it or not. Below is the accompanying assigned reading, to be read before watching.
possibly teasing even more music coming, this is the name of another song they've been playing on tour
https://www.reddit.com/r/GoosetheBand/comments/1sc1olm/good2b_goose_full_version_meta_rip/ new song apparently, haven't had a chance to listen yet
album out in June, based on this tracklist expecting a slant towards jammy stuff similar to Shenanigans but some big tunes on there
