GC definitely would draw more people than say Yellowcard, they have this whole weird second life among like fans of that emo and rap crossover space that regard them as like these Gods from the olden days. That being said, it sounds like they wouldn’t want to.
Also yeah like these guys had more hits for longer, at least in Europe they are a way bigger thing than say Yellowcard (pop radio here will still occasionally play I Just Wanna Live, whereas they never play any other pop punk except maybe Green Day)
If you look at it, GC was years ahead of the hip hop/punk/emo crossover. They got shit for it in the moment but they def could see where culture was going. They were the only band in the pop/punk scene throwing random hardcore and hip hop aesthetics into their visual presentation.
and not that it was a great record by any means, but good morning revival was also a bit ahead of its time in a sense.
Joel Madden Reveals Which Good Charlotte Song He Loves ‘To This Day’ “The group are also considering hitting the road — but the MDDN owner stops short of officially confirming anything. “It has led to a conversation about a tour next year,” Madden tells Us. “If we [decide] something, we’re going to announce it likely before the end of the year, or the top of next year — if there’s anything to announce.” Please.
I haven't seen GC since the Motivation Proclamation days, got to say I'd love to see them live and mix it up from their discography.
I saw them once, at Warped Tour 2001 or 2002 I think. Crazy I’m seeing them again in Vegas in a couple weeks. Finally.
I was mostly able to keep them apart over the years but for years I thought Joel was Benji and vice versa haha, so I could keep them apart but confused them regardless
They sounded pretty good for not having played in a few years!. Now let's hope an official tour gets put together for next year!
