For some reason, seeing these 3 just chatting together put a big smile on my face. 3 of my 4 favorite bands (missing Sum 41).

man these bands hit the timing perfectly to be pop-punk bands those early 2000's were pretty damn good to them

Damn, Sugarcult....now that’s a band I’d love to hear a new album from. I love Lights Out. Might be my favorite from them.

I saw them a couple of times live after they released that album. Just by chance (I may or may not have shown up like six hours early to one of their shows sometime in 2007, I think), I ended up driving Tim and Marko to check out a local museum. At the time, they seemed kind of bummed that the reception to Lights Out wasn’t what they thought it was going to be. They also said they weren’t really sure what was going to come next for the band. Kenny formed a country band at some point, I’m not sure if he’s still doing that. Airin was in Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros when they blew up. I have no clue what Marko has been doing, but he’s such a cool dude IRL. And Tim has obviously had a boatload of success as a producer. I kind of doubt reforming for another album is in the cards for those guys, but it would be cool if they did some shows again at some point. Also, kind of random, but - several hours before that show, Kenny walks out of the venue shirtless and just starts running. I happened to be talking to their merch guy, and he said that he would do that at every stop of every tour to exercise and get a feel for wherever they were playing. That dude got back like THREE HOURS LATER and had been running the entire time. AND THEN proceeded to play a show later that night. His calves were the size of my head. I don’t know why that stuck with me so much, but hey.

Hahaha. That’s awesome and hilarious. I would be the same way with the running if I went on tour. Mike from Bad Religion does that a lot on tour too. He’s an endurance dude and runs ultra marathons and does the distance cycling.

I’ve only seen Sugarcult once and that was the 2004 warped tour when they headlined the Chicago date. I was super surprised by how clogs they were and they definitely had the biggest crowd for the day. Wild times.
