The Sugar Ray/early 00s pop/radio rock is definitely the vibe. Pink Guitar sounds like the theme tune from a tween movie from 2000, musically and lyrically. That is the only real miss for me on this.
About halfway through this now. Never been a big GC guy and this isn't gonna change my mind. Mean is the highlight so far. e: Done. Mean and GC FOREVER are playlist keepers, not particularly into anything else.
probably gonna play this later today, hope it's as good as some of you are saying. can't say i'm looking forward to the one w/ wiz on it
Third listen on a hot af sunny afternoon to pickup some chicken teriyaki and … yep I really like this. Just fun as hell for this weather. Good sequencing. Not really many complaints at all. Intro is a little too long I guess? Bodies is the weak link imo, the lyrics don’t work at all for me there. Real nice three album run for these guys now.
A couple misses for me, but overall I really enjoyed this. Just super happy to have these guys still putting out new music. Can’t wait for a tour.
Could be their best 3 album run. Obviously the first two albums would be considered the best back to back albums. Will someone on staff be reviewing this one?
After the 2nd listen GC Forever is so great. If they never put out another song/album this would be a great song to end on.
Pretty much all of these i didnt love on the first play and by the third i was singing along. Softer than I'd like from them for the most part I think? But these boys know how to write a pop song
I will say i feel like bodies and vertigo are pretty squarely aimed at the fish/Charlotte sands audience and i was hoping for a bit more of a middle ground Mean is a certified banger though
I do think this record could have used another faster song or two, but overall it’s a pretty solid listen
This is disappointing overall. It starts off incredibly strong with Rejects and Stepper but things go massively downhill from there. I didn’t really need to hear features from Wiz Khalifa or Luke Borchelt (???) on a Good Charlotte album.
They have been friends with Wiz Khalifa for a long time, and Luke Borchelt is from the same part of Maryland the band is from. I see no problem including them on the record. Were they my favorite tracks? No, but I'm glad they mixed in something different. Plus, I can totally see the appeal to certain people. My wife is a casual GC fan and loved the song with Luke.
Yeah, I don't think this is bad, just unremarkable. Can't see myself going back to this much. I thought the tracks with Wiz Khalifa and Luke Borchelt were decent because they added variety. Mean was nice too, the chunkier guitars were a welcome addition.
