Tony Hawk as a punk guest vocallist is a career arc I was not expecting but which I am very here for On the subject of which, not Goldfinger but I think people will appreciate this cover: EDIT: Actually it has Darrin in, that's Goldfinger enough for me
Hmm I never thought about it. This is a tough one because I think self titled, hang ups, stomping ground, open your eyes, and never look back are all really solid B and A albums. All have like 5+ really good songs and a smattering of good fillers 2005-2017 was a rough era for them...so they really needed never look back
i really enjoyed the knife, i thought it was a solid comeback album, hello destiny and disconnection notice never did much for me, and the newest one had some fun tracks but with that computerized over production sound throws me off. plus, a lot of it seemed generic/filler to me
like this re-recording with avril, why? it sounds SO produced, her vocals sound super compressed and it just lacks emotion for me.
Never Look Back is super consistent. Love it. The re-recordings felt a bit redundant, especially after the lockdown sessions.
I don’t have any problem with the production on the last two Goldfinger records. It’s very glossy, but it’s punchy and I think it works for most of those songs. I really dig both of those records
