I'm liking this more than I thought I would. Strange seeing Travis and Mike playing drums and bass, respectively. Hah. I'll be happy if this record is a straight-up pop-punk record. The last few Goldfinger releases just didn't do it for me, but I'm liking the energy here...
I hope the rest of the album is better, because this just sounds like a song from California, and I don't think California is good at all
This album is a whole lot of fun. Love the horns. Definitely some duds, but overall ... it's gonna get a lot of summer play for me. Way more than the Deluxe Blink album by comparison.
At the same time with Blink/Alkaline Trio/MxPx/Goldfinger all crossing paths / sharing members it really makes you appreciate that bands like Nofx and Green Day have existed with pretty much the same lineups for decades now. I'd even throw Less Than Jake in there too at this point - some of the horns left but the core is the same. Though there was that Scott from RBF crossover on GNV FLA.
Woah, his entire feed is full with jabs directed at Feldmann, wonder what went down. Also, i like the song.
So I'm reading a bit about the "new Goldfinger" and it really sounds.... like major shit went down. For this album, the band is comprised of John on vocals, Phil Sneed (Story of the Year) on lead guitar, Mike Herrera (MxPx) on bass, and Travis Barker (Blink, etc) on drums. Darrin has been posting a lot about it on twitter, not happy at all According to wikipedia, Charlie Paulson called the new band "fake news" in what seems to be a deleted post.
