It's a cool concept but the mix of snow + night = hard to see. The best decisions GvK made were 2 daylight fights + 1 night fight with a lot of lights
Its the dialogue in KOTM that really gets me - its so comically bad. I keep saying out loud "fuuuuucckk this" at every stupid line I hear, hahaha. "I read it in a fortune cookie once. A really long fortune cookie"
Mike Doherty isn’t from Boston, he’s from Columbus. I point this out as a lifelong Godzilla fan from Boston who very thoroughly appreciated seeing Godzilla tackle Ghidorah through my wife’s former place of work. He made some dreams come true that day when he had no skin in the game!
I must have read his quote wrong and when he said “your city” it was about the audience and not him. Possibly his writer, but I’m not sure if Shields was born there. But there is no faking it when it comes to choosing what major city will be chosen for a film’s setting. Dougherty said that he and his writing partner, Zach Shields, chose Boston for the climactic battle because a city getting destroyed by Godzilla is “a badge of honor.” “It means that your city matters enough to be destroyed in a Godzilla movie,” Dougherty said. “We’ve seen New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and all of those places so many times, why not Bean Town.”
my usual AMC theater is having a maintenance issue so might not be able to see Minus One in Dolby tomorrow, but went ahead and bought IMAX tickets at a Regal I haven't been to in years, just in case
new Japanese Godzilla movie, will be in theaters in a week or two but there's early access showings tomorrow
oh shit ok. looks sick. looks like i dont have any dolby showings near me this week but might be able to catch it in imax this weekend.
There are two advanced screenings near me, but they are at 4:00 and 10:00pm. Normally, I would probably sneak out of work early for the 4:00pm, but I can't this time around. Just gonna have to wait for the official release I guess.
Currently rewatching Lord of the Rings and am very much looking forward to revisiting Peter Jackson's King Kong.
I know you’re obviously referring to the movie, but the video game adaptation of his King Kong movie doesn’t get enough respect for how good it was. Granted I haven’t played it in 18 years, but I remember renting it several times from the local video store and blockbuster and just replaying it over and over. I’d kill for them to make it available as a backwards compatible title so I could play it again
Minus One absolutely ruled. Legit may be a top 10 movie for me this year. A lot of the story beats weren’t groundbreaking but damn if they weren’t effective
