Anyways I think I'm gonna do Destroy All Monsters (or maybe Mothra vs. Godzilla) and Godzilla '14 today

 

Destroy All Monsters is fun although Ghidorah is straight up ruthless to my boy Anguirus for most of the final fight.

 

And speaking of Destroy All Monsters

I just finished putting this set together. It also includes Gorosaurus, Baragon, and Minilla, but I haven’t set them up.

 

Do people cry when they have the opportunity to go on a date with Kong? Just curious

 

Have no idea what they're saying but those models at the beginning are awesome. The huge Ghidorah wingspan behind them all is glorious

Starting to be really on board with how shitty this looks

 

This looks so dumb, especially following Minus One, and I know I’ll be there opening week to see it lol

 

I know this has been the case with the last few US Godzilla flicks, but yeah especially following Minus One it feels jarring to go back to an overstimulating monster mash where the humans are essentially just there to narrate to the audience and occasionally drop a trope-y one liner

 

Minus One seriously raised the bar. I was enjoying Monarch for the first few episodes, Minus One came out in the middle of it, and it was really hard to finish the show after that lol

 

Even without Minus One I wouldn’t be super into this.

The campy Showa films worked (partially) because that was the genre and it was the 60s and 70s. You had a man in a suit. All was forgiven. People tend to forget that the movies still became less and less successful as the camp continued.

With modern filmmaking and CGI giving this a much more serious look, the camp is even worse. Monster movies don’t have to be camp just because monsters are in them but Wingard wouldn’t understand that. He’s too busy giving Godzilla a Marvel audition and giving Bumblebee’s arm to Kong.

 

Did they seriously rip off Lost for the tagline?

"Rise together or fall alone" isn't nearly as catchy.

the only shot I hate is the one with Godzilla bursting out of the ground and immediately running with Kong. That looks really stupid imo

For starters, has there ever been a movie where Godzilla was considered as being "afraid" of anything?
