that exact moment from that trailer was what made me so stoked on that movie at the time. my puny 16 year old brain had probably never been so excited for a movie before
Can we talk about how the guy neuro controlling Mechagodzilla definitely came when he was testing out the atomic breath?
Box Office: 'Godzilla vs. Kong' Sets Pandemic Opening Weekend Record - Variety I really wish we could've see how much this movie would've made pre-covid. Already almost at $300 million worldwide in a week and a half. It's second weekend in China only dropped by 37% so this film is looking like it will have legs (thanks to no upcoming competition, but still)
Having them fight mechagodzilla should be enough for anyone who wants a pacific rim crossover. Let them fight another monster
Honestly after Pacific Rim 2 and the design for MG I have zero faith in anything mech related. But I still love that first movie.
What I want is for the Kong sequel to dive more into the mythology, which him being in Hollow Earth will probably do (although the Hollow Earth idea is still absurd). Introducing King Caesar in a Kong movie would be cool. Godzilla 3 should introduce Anguirius with Gigan as the villain. Destroy All Monsters should include Destoroyah.
Gigan and Biollante trending on Twitter is not something I expected to see today or ever. Hell yes to Anguirus, and I think DAM with Destoroyah in the Ghidorah slot would be unreal.
