This was so much like a saturday morning romp, really nails the stupidity of the concepts and keeps everything at a brisk pace. And the hollow earth looked so cool and that’s all I needed

really enjoyed this. Centering the movie around Kong’s journey over the humans makes this work better than it should

 

It was okay.

 

Thought it was a truly bizarre choice to not bring back the original Godzilla theme for a scene or two.

My gripes are no Godzilla theme, didn’t care for the design of mecha, and the action gets a little too close to Pacific Rim 2 for me. Crazy how Godzilla 2014 was a slow lumbering beast and in this he’s moving around so quick

 

Yeah the mecha design definitely gave me Transformers vibes, wasn't the biggest fan but I still enjoyed that final battle

 

Lived in a firmly pro-Godzilla household before this film. My wife is a traitor now despite the monkey getting his shit kicked twice.

Upon second viewing: without human intervention Kong dies in the hollow earth. Such a king he needs human help ~twice~ to not die.

tbh the Godzilla vs Kong fandom stan arguments is one of the only amusingly great inconsequential things about the last year

 

Kong all day baby - although Godzilla finally showed up in that last battle. He ain’t got the skills.

 

Godzilla vs Kong discourse has been pretty wholesome for the most part.
