I'd doubt he was blacklisted. He played ball pretty well during the press and hasn't gone around bad-mouthing the studio or anything since. And he must have been very tempted to say some shit with how much of a pompous dick Tony Gilroy was about reshooting Rogue One.
people had a problem with Rogue One? Seemed pretty innocuous and... dare I say... fun? Forgettable, but there was enough to like. I remember it more than some of the other newer entries.
I think the question was more to do with the extensive reshoots that took place and if that would have put him on a theoretical studio blacklist, not the public reception of the movie. There doesn't seem to be much hate for the movie even from those who dislike or are critical of it.
It's not my favorite, but it's good. I will always wonder what it looked like before the reshoots. I'm confident we'll never find out though.
I finally finished my rewatch of KOTM and it’s really really bad. Some cool stuff with the monsters but none of the human stuff works at all. Worse then I remember.
Rewatched Skull Island the other night, still feels pretty scatterbrained but the good parts are so good. All the scenes with Kong himself are super fun to watch
Ngl even though Kong is more sympathetic, he's been beating the shit out of dinos for so long (even when it doesn't make sense) that I'm mostly rooting for Godzilla this time around ^_^
Anyone who pulls for Kong is setting themselves up for disappointment IMO. Godzilla beat Ghidorah. What can a monke do?
