Saw a TV spot where they’re recreating the the scene from the original with Kong being airlifted with a big net. I guess it’s slightly more realistic than the balloons
Was gonna catch this on HBO Max but our small friend group is going in on renting out a theater for a showing, should only be $25 a pop. Legit gonna get emotional just being back in a theater
WB is screening this for some critics tomorrow as (what I imagine) a test to see if they're ready to start screening again in theaters.
A friend of mine is also doing the same thing. Next weekend we are watching the first 3 in the series to prep for the big screen showing. He is an absolutely MASSIVE Godzilla fan and I am very excited for him.
Next weekend is a big weekend; new Godzilla film Friday, big UFC fight Saturday night, followed by new Saturday Night Live, then Sunday the first Formula 1 race of the season
I’m going to forever wonder what this film could have pulled in under normal circumstances. The original King Kong vs Godzilla is still the most attended Japanese Godzilla film and the trailer for the 2021 version is the fourth most viewed video of the last two months. As long as the MonsterVerse continues everything is good.
