My third favorite of them all, and like flask said, the closest they come to the original in terms of theme and mood. CGI is a bit hokey at times, but it’s easy to look past. It just rules.

Actually had a friend check it out on Saturday and he loved it.

 

Soundtrack kicks ass too. Anno even busts out the Evangelion battle music.

Shin Godzilla rules. Only film I've seen besides the original and the Broderick.

A diehard 'Zilla friend is showing 2014, Kong, KotM with an outdoor projector when GvK comes out so I can catch up.

 

We did this over the summer for our kids and so a few other families from the neighborhood could come over and watch some movies. Such a fun way to do it. Kong: Skull Island in particular seems perfect for watching this way.

 

Been getting into Kong films again while snowed in. Skull Island is such a fucking blast. Why aren't there more adventure movies like this where characters + fun dialogue explore an uncharted island with crazy flora and fauna? It still feels like those three good Kong films are the best examples of this.
