Yeah this ruled. That one shot that was looking upwards at our boy as he was taking tank rounds. Smoke blasting all around him. Gorgeous
TIL that even though it's absolutely an American corporate creation, there are countries in the Southern hemisphere that do it so they can have a festive holiday during their winter months.
Heads up for those of you who liked the music. The American edition of the LP will be released through Waxworks
Thought this was excellent. Honestly? I didn't mind the ending with her being alive because it didn't feel implausible and I also didn't see it coming. It's a bleak film overall so to have an ending like that felt strangely subversive. And it hammered home the themes really well.
Lol. That was odd, but I took it more as a reflection of his despair which is a pretty key plot element. He didn't have enough hope to marry her and he didn't have enough hope to look for her. The way his neighbor slaps him with the letter at the end communicated this too. Like, "You idiot. Did you not even look?" Maybe that's a kind reading. It just all added up. And yes, people have survived atomic blasts before, although I don't personally have the data on the survivability of a Godzilla blast.
