it’s due to Funimation losing the rights. Gkids has it now. The physical blu-ray/4K release is October 28th. I expect a Max release around that date
Alamo drafthouse down the street from me has more showings of Godzilla 1985 this week. Might check it out. Godzilla day at Alamo tomorrow also
They have already filmed some hospital scenes in Japan and, according to set props, begin filming an attack scene this week. Makes me wonder what the New Zealand and Norway shoots will be We also know that the two main leads, the boat crew, and the neighbor are all returning. I’m pretty sure this is the first time an entire crew of characters is returning for a Toho Godzilla film.
Giant Condor merch is now up on the Godzilla store. I love the slogan ‘Appeared briefly. Died instantly. Loved Eternally.’
Got to see Godzilla ‘54, Mothra vs. Godzilla, Invasion of Astro-Monster, Destroy All Monsters and Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla at a “Godzillathon” in Somerville, MA yesterday. They also played Shin and Minus One, but I had to take off. They mentioned it would be an annual thing moving forward, so hoping I’ll be able to catch some less-often screened ones in the future and knock a few off my list. So far, I’ve seen 17/35 Godzilla films in a theater.
