That shot of Mothra opening its wings was incredible.

This looks great. I am not familiar with the director of this, and I had been lamenting losing Gareth Edwards' framing and sense of scale, but it looks like there's nothing to worry about in that department. All of this looks appropriately epic and some of these shots are downright glorious.

Trick r Treat is probably the most praised film by the director. It’s vastly different from what this is offering though.

I'll have to check out Trick r Treat. There was a lot I loved about Godzilla '14 but just as much that I hated. My main complaints were the story focusing on generic young white guy lead while wasting the talents of so many better actors and too much teasing. I get the Jaws philosophy they were going for but I don't think they quite pulled it off. It almost played as silly like the gag in Austin Powers where things on screen block Mike Myers nudity or like they didn't have enough money but I'm pretty sure they did. It shouldnt have been all widecreen fully body money shots the whole time but I think it needed more of Gareth Edwards' ground level well framed shots actually showing a little of what was happening. I know it's a real tough balance to strike.

With these actors and the story it looks like they're telling so far this looks like an improvement all around .

A really awesome rendition of Clair De Lune. I don’t really understand much of what I just saw but I’ve watched the trailer like 4 times for the use of that song lol. Love it.

Any chance Charles Dance plays an old Tom Hiddleston from Kong? Don't remember the exact time table for Kong so I could be way off haha

This was a pretty damn good trailer. I haven't seen Godzilla or Kong but I have plenty of time to do that.

I think Kong took place in ‘73 so if this takes place in ‘19 he should at least be in his mid-sixties.

I’m confused by the plot. Do the monsters come out of hiding due to the infection wiping out humanity, or do the humans release the monsters to save humanity?

I don't understand the correlation between the infection and monsters, yet.
