wow i totally forgot this was coming out. diving in now.

 

I’ve only had time to listen to the first half of this album and I gotta say, this is the first time I think I’ve listened to them and it’s done virtually nothing for me. Of course I will need to listen to the full thing and multiple time before I cast a final judgement but this hasn’t hit me yet at all

I probably just need more time with it. I listened to a little more after class and the second half of the album is gripping me a lot more

 

I definitely like the back half of this and track 1. Not so sure I’m sold on the Bosses Hang trilogy

 

Even Part III???

 

It just doesn’t really feel like anything they haven’t done before. This ain’t my final take but that’s how I feel. Sorry, I know I was doing so well today too :(

This might be their most boring effort (that I’ve heard, never listened to Asunder for some reason) tbh. The first half sounds like a band that wants to be Godspeed! and they are copying their sound poorly. I really like this band and I fucking love Lift Your Skinny Fists but this is proving to be very underwhelming.

 

I can't agree with that at all

 

I really don’t want to feel this way, but the first half feels so dull to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

asunder doesn't get nearly enough love! but ya, this one is pretty monotonous

 

I have been absolutely obsessed with Yanqui U.X.O. lately. Such an incredible album.

There are parts of Rockets Fall that really remind me of stuff Johnny Greenwood did on the There Will Be Blood Score

 

I got tickets this morning to see them for the first time in August!!

 

Enjoy. I saw them a few weeks back when they came to Detroit. Great show.

Yo, this shit was life changing. It was like the end of humankind in sonic form. That’s the only way for me to describe it, like they were performing the soundtrack to our downfall lol. Needless to say, it was amazing. I’ve been pretty vocal about my disdain for their most recent release and Bosses Hang was still very boring live and I definitely could have done without it, but the rest of the stuff translated very well.
