I'm not sure if it's a cello or something else, but the ending part of Broken Spires is fucking haunting.

 

This is one of my favorite post rock albums in a hot minute

i echo that statement. finally picked up the double LP from my local shop and it sounds glorious.

 

It seemed that Godspeed's Discography has been wiped off Spotify besides an Outro

 

only two albums on apple music now

 

All but their first two are gone from AM, too. Those are on a different label.

 

I mean, I get it and all but this really fucking sucks for us

 

I thankfully had everything already from vinyl download cards, but I highly recommend checking out some of their concert bootlegs from archive.org if you need a GYBE fix and can’t afford to grab stuff from their store or Bandcamp rn.

these are strange times

 

They seem to be gone from ALL streaming services, not even just Spotify and Apple. Wonder if it’s some rights/distribution issue or if this was an intentional choice.

 

Removing from all streaming platforms makes a lot more sense than just Spotify IMO. I still think it's a mistake as you should meet your (potential) fans where they are but at least it means something.

 

Can still stream it on Bandcamp, unsurprisingly

 

It's not a mistake, it's literally praxis.

 

Lots of artists have done the whole 'remove from streaming' thing and they usually wind up coming back. The biggest names to give it a try have probably been Radiohead and Neil Young, but they're both back on all streaming platforms now. It ultimately boils down to, unfortunately, a lot of people are only listening to music on streaming services/Spotify now, so if you're not there they just won't listen.

with sufficient solidarity betweenn artists improvements could at least be made. without at least some artists giving it a crack that remote possibility becomes zero.

 

Just use bandcamp or buy the albums guys.
