Sounds like the endish.

 

Hate to say it, but this started to drag for me a little after i got the blades. I’m currently down in hell again and it’s kinda boring

 

To each their own I guess. I found the whole game enthralling. I loved exploring and completing all the side stuff.

 

The only actual complaint I have with this game is the endgame grind feels so tedious. Muspelheim and Nifelheim just aren't that fun for me overall and the valkaries are fine for what they are. I've also never been much of a completionist either so that's part of it. NG+ will bring me back for sure whenever they decide to drop it. I could play this story over and over and not get bored while I drool over how pretty it is. I just wanna do it with some cool endgame gear!

 

Just got to the fire world. I’m about to finish the game so I thought why not. Honestly I’m surprised how much I’m enjoying these trials. Probably cuz the smoldering flames are so valuable.

 

I HATED some of those trials. Like the not getting hit ones, but the armor is soooooo good.

 

The mist armors are basically a requirement for the Queen unless you are some kind of GoW savant.

I have just started this game today. Just got to the Dark Elves .Combat is pretty fun and I'm excited for the storh aspect. Only thing I'm concerned with is that it feels that I'm not able to upgrade as much due to lack of hacksilver and XP ans will be severely underleveled .

 

Upgrading gets a lot easier as you progress, especially if you start exploring the world and doing side quests.

 

Not even sure at what point I can explore. Does this open up a bit later? I don't want to miss anything. I'll play new game plus anyway but I'd rather try most stuff straightaway

 

Yeah it opens up and you’ll be able to discover new areas. Also areas will be hidden but open up as you progress the story. Some areas will also be blocked but you’ll gain powers that can open those areas up later in the game so you can head back and open them. Overall it’s a lot more open than I thought it would be when i first started playing g. You can spend a lot of time not even progressing the story.

 

I'm just not that good at noticing these unless a tutorial goes "hey, look, area is open now, go explore!". I think i'm just a bit overwhelmed with everything since it's helluva different from previous GOW games but i'm sure after a while i'll be swinging that axe like Thor later. I do miss the Blades of Chaos though.

 

I missed the blades but once you start stringing combos with the axe it feels amazing. Plus throwing it never gets old.

 

Anyone try out NG+ yet? I'm excited to get another playthrough in with all my cool shit. Looks like they added some machanics that will make it interesting rather than just a simple replay: God of War - Stories - Top Reasons to Check Out New Game+

 

Give Me God of War is insane, even with new game plus+ I quit yesterday at THE FIRST BATCH OF ENEMIES in the entire game. One hit is death.

 

i am probably 30 minutes from finishing the main story on this, just saved after defeating Baldur and initiating Mother’s Ashes. def my fav game of the generation, like i really can’t believe how much i loved it. i’m not one for large-scale action games/beat-‘em-ups. i never liked the original series or the Arkham games or any similarly lauded franchises, but this soft reboot fucking pulled me in so hard.

i have the most minor of gripes. i didn’t mind so much that you weren’t in control of the more cinematic battle scenes, but the QTE sections of the fights with Baldur were largely big misses, if only because they were so stifled and repetitive in their animations. i don’t love the side of Freya we see at the end, it just doesn’t track for me, but i also know nothing of the mythology it’s taking cues from. also, the armor progression isn’t fun. i have done a lot of grinding and exploration/backtracking as i go and have only been able to forge two pieces of Epic gear, both of which are almost outclassed by my upgraded Legendary sets.

a masterpiece, though, and it’s sequel will singlehandedly sell me whatever best model of the PS5 it debuts on. time to platinum it.

 

When people tell me GOW isn't game of the year, I just look at them with disbelief.

 

Does it even have much competition so far

 

Celeste, Spider-Man and everyone's hoping RDR2 will be as good as it looks.

 

Loved Spider-Man but it doesn't touch this. DQXI is the only one that comes close for me.

 

DQXI and then Spider-Man are literally my next two games haha. ssoooo excited for DQ but im moving in a couple of weeks and am waiting until then to boot it up
