well I'm just going to leave this here for those, like me, who've missed this. obviously this sounds terrible so I hope to god they'll rerecord it but it's glassjaw, so:

 

Not gonna lie it took me some time to get into Translating the Name, having first known Saosin from seeing the You're Not Alone music video on MTV2 or some shit. Good shit though.

 

Translating the Name is fine. It’s got some jams, but also some pretty forgettable stuff. It’s easily my least favorite thing Anthony Green put out there.

Could totally go for an Anthony Green/Glassjaw collaboration.

 

I brushed off TTN for years just because the opening verse of Seven Years kinda grated my nerves for some reason, and I'd never dig beyond that.

Now it's one of my favorite EPs of all time, and also probably near #1 on my "most listened" list every year among stuff that's not new releases. It's so concise and never gets old at all.

 

I doubt a 2 year old recording makes the cut, but like you said, its glassjaw... Lol

 

if it is the same recording then what does that say for the production on the rest of the album?

surely they give more of a fuck about the way this will sound than say an ep

 

I just hope someone showed them how to dial in a bass tone lol

 

I wish Manuel and Durijah were still in the band they’re one of the tightest grooviest versatile rhythm sections in this scene

 

The production on NWE definitely is lacking, but I don't think it sounds as bad as Our Color Green.

 

people think Our Color Green sounds bad? hm, weird.

 

The songs themselves are all great, but yea, the production has always sounded a little off.
