alright I finished first listen MAAAAAAN that's a trip, I totally get some people not being into it. It sounds like an even crazier offshoot of OCG/CB. There's so much to take in with it. Daryl's vocals are very much in the mix with everything else so he's not as up and center but that just makes it about everything as a whole, which is cool. Since everything is siiiiiiiick.
kind of early for me to agree or disagree with what youre saying here. i was just seeing everyone being like "too chaotic" then i thought about John Lennon, and Jesus Glue and kind of scratched my head
Second listen through headphones and oh maaaaaaaaan I picked it up on first listen but second listen reinforced it, strange hours is so fuckin cool This whole album rips, fantastic.
I really wish I knew where to find this record. Not asking for it, I just feel like I used to be able to find these things and now have no clue. Seeing them tomorrow but wish I could hear it tonight
I think shira and strange hours are my favorites also I screamed hearing that they actually put that teaser with the Junkies riff in the actual album, so good
I rarely ever have time to venture into the forums, but I just spent the past couple of hours reading this entire thread because that's how important the existence of a new Glassjaw album is to me. This is such a huge day. 19 when W&T came out. 17 when I first saw them opening up for Deftones on the White Pony tour. Changed my fucking life.
Dude, I've been fighting against every instinct reading through this thing, but I'm waiting till my download link goes active in an hour. I spent the whole day at home with my 1-year-old, and I really need this first listen to be completely uninterrupted. I'll be back tomorrow morning with my thoughts for sure.
On first listen it definitely lacks the hooks/melodies of W&T. There's so much going on here that I think it's going to take me a while to digest it all (not a bad thing).
I absolutely love it. We'd Kill Each Other and Crawling in Circles are two of the hardest jams of the year
