Alright well I came off that new At the Drive In album as one of the only people to still really like it so I'm still hype!
My plan is to listen to it once through on Spotify at midnight then I will sleep, wake up and have it on repeat all day at work.
this is exactly what i want from glassjaw in 2017. no bullshit, just track after track of tunes that knock you back. aggressive, groovey, catchy. couldnt imagine being let down in any way. production is imperfect but serves the songs, guitar tones are meaty the bass and drums are powerful and daryl sits perfectly in the mix.
The sequencing on this thing is so cool! Every song flows so well into the next. (At least what I've heard so far. I'm about halfway through)
I take it back, Closer is my favorite, not NWE. The energy is fucking great. Wouldve liked more of that spread around this album.
Im not gonna be a debbie downer in here anymore lol Enjoy the record y'all! Im gonna be bitter and throw Worship and Tribute on lol See you guys in 15 years!
off topic, Ive been wonering for a while what your username is supposed to be but I think I got it, alexisonfire taking back sunday the early november?
That's it! Those were my favorite bands back when I first joined AP.net so I just meshed them together haha. It's a dumb username in retrospect, but it whatever.
i think the 2nd half of the album is my favorite, which isn't usually how it goes. i'm stoked to listen to this a few times today.
The first line of My Conscience Weighs A Ton is the first line to Deftones - The Boys Republic. Enjoying Daryl's singing as usual but unlike EYEWTKAS and W&T, which felt a bit more like the Daryl Palumbo show to a certain extent, it seems to me that on this he's using his vocals to compliment and work off the guitars rather than taking centre stage.
If anything the mixed opinions in here are getting me more jazzed. I’m glad too people are saying it’s a “no frills” classic post hardcore GJ album. I want that.
