Dec 1st seems way too soon so maybe its a placeholder date? But I guess it doesnt matter Glassjaw has shown theyre going to do this however they want so it could be soon and they just plan on announcing it like later today or sometime within the next couple days.

"Late 2016" Daryl interview with George Reynolds (Mind Over Matter, dayinthelife), only just posted last week. Didn't expect much to be revealed, but he does confirm that the album is just him, Beck and Billy Rymer, along with one song featuring guest vocals from George and percussion from a guy named Ariel. The album was finished at this point, and he says how they were working with a label, but it went under, so they were unsure of how they were going to proceed.

Fun fact: Shannon Larkin (Godsmack's drummer) did drums on W&T. Those tracks RULE.

So apparently this information was not supposed to leak and it sounds like they were going to randomly release it on the first. They reached out to another member on another board that posted the track listing on Twitter and someone from the record label reached out and asked them to take it down.

 

So Dec 1 may not be real?

 

It would have been pretty cool to just get a new glassjaw album dropped with no indications but at the same time hypeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee right now

Ive always felt like I would like these guys if I put in the effort to listen to them a bunch but never have. Currently listening to coloring book and liking it quite a bit. Is this the consensus best release or does that still go to Worship & Tribute?

 

Depends on who you ask, I think I prefer Worship a BIT more but still great, great stuff that I wouldn't do without

 

Folks are pretty divided tbh. I feel like Worship and Tribute is the best starting point for New fans though.

 

It’s hard for an EP to compete with an album imo, especially when that album is possibly the greatest post hardcore album of all time. W&T is so good even the b-sides from it are gold and there’s nearly an albums worth of them.

The EPs are pretty rad tho

 

I'll jump in on this: I was 17 when W&T came out. I feel old.

 

Unless that EP is called Translating the Name. ;)
