ive come to realize reading over this thread that Daryl is both a great lyricist and a fucking nonsensical one

How I feel about most of the album tbh

 

So are you guys saying we should collectively rewrite the lyrics to that whole album ourselves? I'm in.

 

They're dodgy lyrics, but it helps to think of it as a concept album about a character, not Daryl's actual thoughts. I know that's not necessarily the truth, but it's easier to justify it as "oh here's a deliberate exaggeration of some nasty thoughts he's had in order to create a character that's telling the story of the album", imo.

Still doesn't really work for Piano though. That song is just straight fucked up.

 

I keep refreshing their website since it auto directs to merch direct now - need a vinyl preorder stat

 

Listening party and free PBR? Almost worth making the trip cross country for it.
