it's okay at least you have something to look forward to because this great sucks no one here listens to them really :- /
Yeah, agreed. For how big (and good) ZABA was, you'd think they'd have a bigger fanbase on this site. They're one of the few bands that I hear a ton more hype for in real life than I do on this site. Hopefully this is the album that hooks everyone here!
Fantastic! I'm excited to hear it! I saw the FB post where Dave said that one of the choruses was supposed to be like a cocaine fueled stream-of-consciousness thought and that the closer is his favorite, which got me even more hype
it's definitely a very interesting an album, mostly because these are the kinds of songs you never thought you'd hear glass animals do. Gonna reserve judgement until I listen to it a lot more.
I'm still digesting their first album which I only listened to recently (I think it's brilliant btw), but excited to listen to this tomorrow
love the guitar work in Poplar St., sometimes I forget this band has guitar but whenever it pops up I'm so impressed by how tasteful it is. I'm fairly drunk so I'm going to listen to this again
is the carpenters sample that flute part on Mama's Gun? that's a very interesting song, it feels like it's in the wrong place in the track listing a little but it's great. I feel like I really need to see the lyrics on some of these songs, they are very clearly crucial to each song. He's a very surprising lyricist, but I tend to like lyricist who reference food a lot haha
Will definitely give this a listen tomorrow. The posts in here have me excited...I've never listened to them before.
Take A Slice is super spooky, I guess this is the bizarre chord progression they keep talking about on fb??? I use weird chords all the time so it's not that weird to me haha I think the chorus of Life Itself is weirder
yay we got someone! I reccomend giving their first album Zaba a listen first... or maybe not first but definitely at some point definitely listen to this song first it's the first song they ever made and it sums them up pretty well
@mad how do you feel about the closer? part of me feels like it's too much like a "radio alternative song" but the other part of me is amazed that they pulled off the uplifting alt rock song so well
