SO THEY HELD ON TO THE #2 SPOT AND I'M BESIDE MYSELF WITH JOY RN. TOP 10 IN IRELAND TOO. YES I'M SHOUTING, FUCK OFF.
Tame Impala is a good one - forgot about that one I thought about them, but I feel like this is outpacing The 1975 in terms of streaming volume. “Tokyo Drifting” is the most streamed song on either album and I wouldn’t be surprised if “Heat Waves” ends up in that spot in a few months with all the momentum it currently has.
Top 5: 1- Heat Waves 2- Waterfalls Coming Out Your Mouth 3- Your Love (Déjà Vu) 4- It's All So Incredibly Loud 5- Tangerine What's yours?
I always dug Zaba and thought How to be a Human Being was pretty great but I low key hate this record lol I realize I’m pretty much in the minority on this thread but aside from Heat Waves and Helium - I couldn’t stand this. The lyrics were laughable at times and felt like pure filler but the worst part was that I was ultimately bored. So much of it felt like bland modern pop. Happy for the guys with this doing well commercially but this is just not what I hoped for after four years ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
My fiancee says the same thing--that this record sounds like bland modern pop. To me, it sounds kaleidoscopic and dreamy but also infectious. Yes, the songwriting is pop but they're doing something very different in terms of atmosphere. I get the criticism though- they've strayed a bit from their neosoul-tinged roots.
New version of a song coming tonight straight after their livestream show! UPDATE: Single version of Tangerine feat. Arlo Parks
