I liked it. I felt like it fit her character, she's been getting progressively more tired of them as a whole throughout the entire show. At least the show ends on a happy note for her.

Shoshanna was never connected to the main group in the same way. She was younger, a relative of Jessa. The episode where she saw her former college friends showed her that it was useless to try and maintain these relationships.

Lena posted that it was the final episode for Shosh and Jessa

Im happy with that. Was last weeks the last for Adam? I'd be sad to not see him again but that was also a perfect send of for him.

Didn't she also say the last episode was Adam's last episode? She really should not have announced these things; it ruins the fun of a finale.

    what is the vibe?

This whole "We wanted the revelation of Shosh being engaged to be surprising to the audience as it is to Hannah" is a cop out for ignoring Shoshanna this season. The past two seasons have neglected to progress her storyline outside of Japan and Ray, so. Maybe we're fools for believing that she's a bigger part of the show.

She was my favorite character for the first 3-4 seasons.. its a shame. oh well I guess it makes some sense but IDK i feel like this season started real strong and has ended kind of weak. Next week will make or break it I suppose

I think these last two episodes have probably been the best of the season and two of my favourites of the show. I've loved the entire season though.

It was Elijah's last episode too I believe.

This season has been a bit of a hard watch, and definitely feels messy, but not in the production sense of messy, but the lives of these 4 girls who grew apart over time. It feels extremely realistic, and makes it kinda heartbreaking but also really strange

Yeah I think it's done a fantastic job showing how relationships just break down over time, sometimes without you even realising it's happened,

Between Alison & Lena's instagram posts today, it seems that Shosh, Jessa and Elijah are all done, but Marnie will still be in the finale

Hannah and Marnie have always been the central relationship, even as the show drifted away from them. For all of Marnie's selfishness, in her own way she would end up being a part of Hannah's child's life more than the others.

"If you think I'm gonna move up there, marry you and be your Tad, you are surely mistaken ma'am ... probably." I'm going to miss Elijah so much.

Don't care what anyone says. This show is going out on their best season and it's kind of flying under the radar now that the hype/thinkpiece machine has slowed down on it.

Finally caught up this morning. I definitely don't agree that this is the best season - 1, 2, and last year all felt like they had more cohesive arcs and less fluff. The movie brought a few big laughs but as others have said felt out of place, and too many big things in the last few episodes felt rushed or unearned. But there have been some phenomenal parts of this season. The Adam episode was incredible, up there with the Charlie episode from last year as the best the show has been since the beginning. And it's leaned into the comedy really well, so funny this season.

I had mixed feelings on this most recent one. Shoshana was my favorite character in the first half of the series and she definitely got a raw deal. The bathroom scene was pretty fantastic but the engagement thing rang hollow. It really clarified how second tier her character had been written into and felt like an overly quick resolution. Kinda felt like it cheapened the Ray and Shosh friendship a bit (an underrated thread of the show imo); I can excuse him not being there in that he wouldn't have wanted to be there, but for them to have not talked about it onscreen feels so untrue to those characters. The reveal wasn't worth it for me.

Nice semi-callback to the s1 episode that ended with Dancing on My Own with the last shots of this one. I always really appreciated the way the show kind of got scenes of listening to music or dancing right. (Funny with Marnie's music writing/playing career being one of the more major deviations from realism in the entire run.)

The last few minutes of the episode were very good, but this was a pretty bad ending. The show was always an ensemble; making everything about Hannah is boring, as she was often the least interesting character in the show. The previous episode did a much better job.

I didn't hate it, but it was a weirdly low key episode even for one free of the wrapup stuff that the preceding month of episodes covered. Marnie got a pretty nice sendoff all things considered, the scene with Loreen essentially telling her that she needs to move on with her own life was really well done.

This last episode reeked of Judd Apatow's stink to me. I don't know how involved he really was but that heavy-handedness of all of the familial themes (her screaming at Loreen, the scene with the girl) was just so Judd Apatow-esque in its assertion of the nuclear family.

Did not love this ending. But, not really bothered because episode 9 was so strong.
