Henry Golding of Crazy Rich Asians fame stars as the (typically) mute ninja dude from the toy line of our childhoods.

Golding posted the first image from the movie on his Instagram today.

    Cast so far via Wikipedia:
    • Henry Golding as Snake Eyes
    • Andrew Koji as Storm Shadow
    • Iko Uwais as Hard Master
    • Úrsula Corberó as Baroness
    • Samara Weaving as Scarlett
I'm a big Iko Uwais fan, and after Ready or Not, I'm in to seeing what Weaving brings to the picture.

    Could be good? Maybe?

That image is dope. I'd love if we get a dark, contemplative black and white Ninja drama

but it's GI Joe and the dude who directed RIPD and Divergent movies so I'm sure it'll be hot dog shit

"OK, I've got an idea. What if we made a martial arts movie which was basically Batman Begins?"
"Can you add the GI Joe license to it?"

Lol I saw this trailer in the theater earlier and I turned to my friend and mentioned how one line of dialogue (along with a lot of the general premise) was ripped almost verbatim from the early section of Batman Begins.

Predictably, this sucked ass and has absolutely no reason to exist.

I got 3/4's of the way through this and it is complete and utter nonsense. Bad, bad, not good.

I watched this over the weekend, and the movie was much like I thought it was from the trailers: a script for a Yakuza action movie x Batman Begins which for some reason has GI Joe-related names and concepts in it.

Didn't love it, didn't hate it. Henry Golding has a superstar charisma which will be used better elsewhere, and Samara Weaving was absolutely wasted.

Going to be fun to catch when it gets repeated constantly on FX or TNT if just for the few fun action sequences in it.
