  3. Don’t most people consider GB2 bad? I like it and I’d say I enjoy more about the game than the movie but the ending got kinda weird. I’m sure the nostalgia is why I think maybe 2 is better. Lol I just talked to a buddy that’s a huge GB fan but not video games and found him a supercut of the entire story of the game on YouTube. It’s over 3 hours long but I’d be down to grab some beers and sit down with it to remember some of the plot points.

I am only now realizing that people consider Ghostbusters 2 bad... I mean, I've always considered it a big step down from the first one, but I always enjoyed the hell out of it when I was younger, and most sequels usually aren't as good. All the Vigo The Carpathian stuff / evil painting stuff is 2, right??

I couldn't even get all the way through Ghostbusters (2016), and I'm a big fan of pretty much everyone in the cast. I enjoyed the hell out of Feig's Bridesmaids and Spy, and laughed a lot at The Heat. Really the only part of GB '16 I laughed at was Chris Hemsworth's character... I think I'm going to have to go back and watch it again. I am trying to remember when I watched it and recall if I was in a funk or not in a good space to watch a comedy.

  5. Amended statement: It's better than Spy and The Heat, and Ghostbusters 2.

Better than Spy?!?!?!? Oh snap - I might have to lose some serious sleep and do a re-watch tonight. I thought Spy was fantastic. Best comedy I had seen in a long time.

  7. I've got lots of really good comedy recommendations that came out in the last three years for you then. Heh.

Wait, just to get my bearings, did you seriously dislike Spy, or was it that there were just much better comedies recently???

I enjoyed GB2 as a kid and have seen it almost as many times as the first. I still like it today bc of nastalgia reasons. It’s got some good lines in it too. But looking at it now, I can definitely see why critics were a bit harsh. It feels very half assed and thrown together. Basically a rehash of the first one but with a worse soundtrack.

I hope it's cool for me to say the GB reboot was better than Unaccompanied Minors...

  11. Oh wait I thought Jason was saying the GB game was better than 2. Idk about spy - never seen it - but I’m just not a huge Feig fan.

Nothing he's made in the last decade is bad. The Heat was kinda meh, but that's really it. His Ghostbusters movie remains exceedingly decent. I caught some of it on FXX and I still shake my head over the clusterfuck that came from it. It's FINE

  13. I’ll be mad at how that got trashed and some Marvel movies get praised for a while. It’s absurd.

“Spy” is a stone cold classic comedy. IMO, Feig’s best work. I thought both “The Heat” and “Ghostbusters” were fine, but suffer from post-Apatow syndrome of just letting the actors riff a little too much.

I enjoyed Ghostbusters (2016) more than Ghostbusters 2. Still enjoyed the original the most. Stay puff and the demon dog were cool when I was a kid.

Bridesmaids remains his best moment. I need to rewatch A Simple Favor to see if I'd put it ahead of Spy. I still think about how solid Spy ended up being after the trailers made it look like McCarthy's more lowbrow shit

Should have said best movie! Nothing beats “Freaks and Geeks”! Feig’s two books are pretty good too. Gives a lot of insight into how much his upbringing influenced the show.

  22. I 100% regret saying I wasn’t a fan of him for the simple fact that I love everything about F&G
