I both dig the trailer & don't dig it. I dunno. Making the first trailer more serious than the actual film (or later trailers) isn't uncommon, so I don't wanna read too much into it, but the lack of fun is annoying. I didn't think we were still in the age of gritty reboots being "cool" or whatever, lol.

No way this happens, but still hoping for some kinda cameo for at least Leslie Jones. Not as the same character, of course, just like how the last film had old actors in different roles. But, just as a tribute to an actress who went through hell for the crime of being in a throwaway, inoffensive reboot.

Speaking of old cast members, between the title & the premise... There's like a 99% chance we get a CGI Harold Ramis at the end as Egon's ghost, right?

 

The tone feels very Spielbergian to me, which is an interesting route to go for a first Ghostbusters trailer, but it seems cool.

 

Hard pass if it has that more serious tone.

 

As long as it isn't two hours of fart jokes

Seriously though - I pray TO GOD we get a Moranis surprise.

 

I think this apparent shift in tone is wise. You avoid outright comparisons to the original and create a new setting to make a good film that stands on its own.

 

Lots of people are skeptical of the tone. Are they not familiar with Jason Reitman and his films?

It's weird watching the ECTO-1 rip through the small town 30 minutes from where I live lol

I know what's REPORTED but wouldn't that be a great way to hide it?- be wonderful if it was a bullshit excuse to keep it under wraps. Probs not, cause someone would have sniped it :/

i was pretty whelmed by this, hopefully that's mostly because it came a day after the WW84 trailer

 

As someone who likes the first film and thought the 2nd was not that good, this trailer has me interested and I wasn't even looking forward to it before this trailer.

 

This looks like an absolute blast
